The Jonas Brothers visited fans on their home turf. They made a surprise stop at a New York theater they performed at while growing up. The Jonas Brothers’ appeared at the Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY on Saturday. It was one of several stops across the country to promote their new film–
Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.
It was a homecoming for Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, who were raised nearby in Wyckoff, N.J. Nick Jonas said they saw a lot of movies at this mall, “so the fact that we’re coming back here is really, really, really cool.”
The bad news is that Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience came in 2nd at the box office this weekend with estimated sales of $12.7 million.
Compare The Jonas Brothers’ film to 2008’s Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, which had a $31.1 million weekend last year. That 3-D film, about pop idol Miley Cyrus, premiered in just 683 theaters. The Jonas Brothers opened in 1,271 theaters.
Surely the Jonas Brothers are as popular as Miley Cyrus. What do you think? Is it just the economy or did Miley really kick the Jonas Brothers’ butt on this one?
